It's facets are cut in rectangular ways creating a very special rectangular shaped diamond. This results in a lot of light coming into your diamond, but also means flaws can be more visible to the human eye.

This means clarity is the most important thing to consider with your ring. Don't go and buy the biggest center stone you can afford in your price range. Instead choose a smaller center and side stones that have higher clarity ratings. (VS2 at the absolute bottom, but VVS2 or above is recommended) Moreover, try to pick rings with better color ratings as well (J or better) to get a really special looking ring.

There is no absolute rule for this but in general you want a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio for your stones.
